About us

Hi! I’m Chacha.

I am Japanese, born and raised in Hyogo Prefecture, and spent four years of my university life in Kyoto. After graduating, I lived in Osaka for four years, spent two years in Ehime Prefecture (a rural area), and have now been living in Tokyo for two years.

Having experienced both the countryside and the bustling metropolis of Japan, I’m going to share the charm, culture, and values of Japan that is more than what’s just another found in travel guidebooks.

I would be honored to provide useful information for those interested in Japanese culture, considering traveling or relocating to Japan.”

What is “ROJIURA”?

‘ROJIURA’ is a Japanese word, meaning of ‘off-street’.

Walking through narrow, maze-like paths behind the main streets, you might unexpectedly come across charming little shops, cafes, or other hidden gems, nestled between residential homes and small apartments.

For this page as well, I hope to feature various types of content related to Japan, not confined by specific genres or rules. I hope that one of these could become a fascinating encounter for someone.
